Payments, insurance and subsidies

Specialist care should not come with billing surprises. Every quotation is itemised before treatment begins — and this page covers every way to pay: CHAS and Pioneer or Merdeka Generation subsidies, Medisave for endodontic surgery, and how dental insurance is handled.

Government subsidies

CHAS, Pioneer Generation and Merdeka Generation

Sage Dental Specialists is a CHAS-registered clinic.

If you hold a CHAS, Pioneer Generation or Merdeka Generation card, bring it to your visit. The subsidy depends on your card tier and the procedure being done, so the team checks your card and confirms the exact subsidy with you before treatment begins — it appears directly on your itemised quotation, not as a claim you make afterwards.

  • INSURANCE LOGOS (46)Merdeka Generation

Not sure which applies to you?Send us your card or policy details and we will check before your visit.

Medisave

Medisave and Flexi-MediSave

Routine, non-surgical root canal treatment is not Medisave-claimable. Endodontic surgery is — under its own procedure codes, with substantial claimable limits.

SF708T — Periradicular surgerySingle-rooted tooth, various lesions
up to $1,620
SF818T — Periradicular surgeryMulti-rooted tooth, or more than one tooth
up to $1,890
SF814T — Reimplantation or transplantationFollowing dislocation of a tooth
up to $1,890
SF703M — Exploratory surgeryWithin one quadrant
up to $740
Flexi-MediSaveFor eligible patients, towards outpatient treatment
up to $400 / year

These are the total Medisave-claimable limits for each procedure code — the surgical procedure limit plus the day-surgery fee — not the fee itself. Medisave claims cannot include GST, so the GST portion of your bill is payable by the patient. We check your eligibility and confirm the exact claimable amount with you before treatment begins. The full root canal fee guide is published on the root canal treatment page.

Insurance

Dental insurance

We work with a range of dental insurers and corporate benefit schemes. How a plan is handled depends on the insurer and the plan itself — some are billed directly, others are claimed after treatment with paperwork we prepare for you.

Get in touch with our team to know more about our insurance tie-ups. Send your benefit card or policy details before your visit and we will check what applies, so your itemised quotation already reflects it. For plans you claim yourself, you leave with an itemised invoice, a dental memo and any claim forms or dental reports your insurer needs completed.

Not sure if you are covered?WhatsApp us a photo of your benefit card and the team will check for you before your visit.

What to expect

How billing works, visit by visit

  1. Before you visitSend your referral letter, any X-rays and your insurer or CHAS card details by WhatsApp. A quotation and a coverage check can be prepared before you arrive.
  2. At the consultationYou receive an itemised quotation before any treatment begins — with the CHAS subsidy, Medisave amount or direct billing already reflected on it.
  3. After treatmentDirect-billed insurers are settled with the insurer. For self-claim plans, you leave with the itemised invoice, a dental memo, and any forms your insurer needs completed.
